  • Supporting the immune system: Ghost pipe has been used to help boost the immune system and fight off infections.

Turkey Tail

Turkey tail mushroom (Trametes versicolor) is known for its various health benefits, including:

  • Boosting the immune system: Turkey tail mushroom contains compounds known as polysaccharides, which have been found to have immunomodulatory effects, meaning they can help to regulate the immune system and improve its ability to fight off infections.

  • Supporting gut health: Turkey tail mushroom has been found to have a beneficial effect on gut health, potentially by reducing inflammation and promoting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.

  • Supporting liver health: Turkey tail mushroom has been found to have a beneficial effect on liver health, potentially by reducing inflammation and protecting the liver from damage.

  • Anti-cancer properties: Some studies have shown that compounds found in turkey tail mushroom have anti-tumor effects and can inhibit the growth and spread of certain types of cancer cells, particularly in breast and colorectal cancer

Maitake

Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is a type of medicinal mushroom that has been traditionally used in Japan and China for centuries. It is known for its various health benefits, including:

Cordyceps

Cordyceps Militaris fruiting bodies have a multitude of known health benefits including:

  • Decrease inflammation: Cordyceps Militaris contain a bioactive component called cordycepin. This can help with inflammation related to asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, hepatitis and more. In fact, cordycepin has been identified as a neutraceutical (a food that contains medicinal benefit). Lab studies suggest cordycepin and cordyceps polysaccharide can have additional positive effects on obesity (a condition often associated with chronic low grade inflammation).

  • Boost exercise performance: Studies have shown that individuals taking Coryceps while doing high intensity exercise have a significant improvement in V02 max (a measurement of how much oxygen your body uses and absorbs while working out). C. militaris may also provide and increase in ATP production (which provides energy to your muscles).

  • Anti-aging: Cordyceps have long been used in traditional Chinese medicine among older populations to provide energy, reduce fatigue and boost libido and sex drive. In fact, it’s been referred to as “Himalayan Viagra” because of these effects.

  • Anti-carcinoginic: Research suggests cordyceps is one of several kinds of fungi that have anti-breast cancer effect. In fact, cordyceps is being studied in cancer immunotherapy. It’s also been traditionally used as a dietary therapy for people with lung cancer in China.

  • Regulate blood sugar: Lab studies suggest cordyceps could reduce blood sugar and improve insulin resistance. It may even help with dyslipidemia (elevated cholesterol or fats in the blood).
