Our Story

We are the McBrayers- mushroom farmers, gardeners, homesteaders, medical providers and parents. Jason is a full time paramedic in Durham County and Anya is a full time Physician Assistant in family medicine in Cary, NC. One Fungi Mushroom Farm began as a hobby and love. Jason had an interest in mycology and was always incredibly talented when it came to chemistry. Through his journey to sobriety, he spent a huge amount of time in nature and became fascinated with wild mushrooms. He started growing mushrooms for our family to eat and cook with. Years of studying and researching led him to begin growing medicinal adaptogenic mushrooms and One Fungi Mushroom Farm was born.

We began an etsy shop selling dried mushrooms and then expanded to tinctures. Anya and Jason saw the benefit that mushrooms could provide for people and experienced it in their own lives as well. Anya began experimenting with ways to incorporate the mushrooms we grew, along with other adaptogens into products that taste delicious. Our Sporacle Mushroom Mix/ Coffee, Elderberry Mushroom Syrup and Elderberry Mushroom Syrup kits and Cordyceps Gummies were born from experimentation and trial and error. We love not only the medicinal benefit of our products but also the taste!

When we are not working in our full time jobs, growing mushrooms, and creating new products, we are the parents to two awesome kiddos- Jackson and Cooper, two dogs- Reishi and Cordy, a Maine Coon cat- Morel (yes all named after mushrooms) and 17 chickens. Jason loves spending time outdoors and hiking while Anya loves spending time in the garden growing food for the family and beautiful cut flowers for all to enjoy.

We are so glad you found us and are excited for you to become a part of our mushroom family.

Mush love,

Jason and Anya McBrayer
